PRESQUE ISLE and ASHLAND – Carlton J. Legassie, 65, died Feb. 6, 2010, at a Presque Isle hospital after a long illness. He was born Dec. 27, 1944, in Sheridan, son of Stewart J. and Sophie M. (Baker) Legassie Sr. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Pinkham Lumber Co. for many years. Carlton is survived by one son, Cory Legassie of Portland; one daughter, Lena Legassie of Orrington; one sister, Joanne Soucier of Fort Fairfield; six brothers, Glenn, Raynold, Milton and Milford Legassie, all of Presque Isle, Stewart Jr. and Richard Legassie, both of South Portland; and one grandson, Michael of Orrington. Relatives and friends may call noon until the time of service Tuesday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Raymond Morency, celebrant. Spring interment will be at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in his memory to St. Mark Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, in care of St. Mark’s Parish.
