BREWER and BANGOR – Thelma Spratt, 94, died Feb. 5, 2010, at a Brewer health care facility, after a long illness. She was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Newport, the daughter of Charles P. and Lettie A. (Noddin) Abbott. Thelma was employed with Bangor State Hospital and later Ross Home. She was a member of Tuscan Chapter No. 148 Order of the Eastern Star of Bangor and Eagles Club Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard A. Spratt Sr.; and a son, Howard A. Spratt II. Surviving are a son, Tyrone Spratt and his wife, Linda, of Glenburn; a daughter, Sharon Spratt Burns and her husband, Norman “Larry” Burns, of Bangor; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Linda Burns LaBreck of Bangor. The family thanks the staff at Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center for their kindness and care. Relatives and friends are invited to call 3-5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher of All Souls Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
