MADAWASKA – Donald L. Dionne, 50, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at a Frenchville health care facility. He was born June 10, 1959, in Hartford, Conn., the son of John and Jeannine (Couturier) Dionne. When Don was 10 years old, he, his mother and his brother, Bob, moved to Madawaska, where he graduated from high school in 1978. Joining the U.S. Army shortly after graduation, Don served his country for four years in Germany. After his honorable discharge, Don worked as a diesel mechanic until his illness no longer allowed him to do so. He loved to watch football and play cards with his buddies. Don had a big heart and loved life. He wasn’t afraid to say he loved you. Don is survived by his brother, Robert Dionne and his wife, Janice Joyce, of Levant; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his best buddy, Mike Morneault. He was predeceased by his parents. At Don’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, National Headquarters, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daigle Funeral Home.
