BUCKSPORT – Martha Daw, 61, passed away Feb. 1, 2010. A 1966 graduate of Bucksport High School, Martha Stubbs Daw earned nursing degrees from Holy Ghost Hospital School of Nursing Cambridge, Mass., and the University of Tennessee. She practiced nursing at Massachusetts General; Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, Fla.; Shand Teaching Hospital, Gainesville, Fla.; Three Rivers Hospital, Waverly, Tenn.; and Methodist Medical Center, Oakridge, Tenn., and served as obstetrics supervisor at Nautilus Memorial Hospital, Waverly, Tenn. Among her many and varied agrarian hobbies was raising, breeding and showing dairy goats from her “Wild Horn” farm in Knoxville, Tenn. Her father, Charlton P. Stubbs; and mother, Deloris Stephens Stubbs, predeceased her. She is survived by two sisters, Charleyne A. Gilbert, and Judith D. Stubbs and her daughters, Lori, Jennifer, Carrie and Lacey; one brother, Wesley C. Stubbs and wife, Marie and their children, Jason and Jodi; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Liston Houston. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
