MACHIAS, Maine — Mainers will get a dose of everything from heavy rain, freezing rain and dangerous wind gusts before the day ends.
Most parts of the state Monday are seeing rain and most of the state is under a flood watch. To the north, there’s a winter weather advisory for freezing rain.
The National Weather Service has posted a high wind warning for the midcoast and Down East Maine. Those regions could see gusts topping 60 mph.
Meteorologist Jim Brown says the culprit is a low pressure that’s moving through, and bringing with it warmer temperatures. He says things should cool down by mid week.
