BANGOR, Maine — The University of Maine Museum of Art has expanded the submission criteria for its I-95 Triennial Invitational Exhibition.

Artists working or residing within 50 miles of Interstate 95 all the way up to Houlton, the northern terminus of the highway, are now eligible to enter the exhibition, UMMA director George Kinghorn said.

The previous limitation, announced earlier this year, was within 50 miles of Bangor.

Organizers will accept submissions beginning Monday, Sept. 21, with a deadline of 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. Acceptances will be mailed Dec. 18.

The show is scheduled to open April 23, 2010, at the museum’s location at 40 Harlow Street.
