CARIBOU, Maine — Investigators with the Caribou Police Department are working to identify the person responsible for allegedly stabbing a juvenile female last Wednesday at a Franklin Street residence.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that they are still investigating the case but have no new information about the incident.

The stabbing was reported just before 10 a.m. by the victim. She suffered a superficial wound to her abdomen and told police she had been stabbed by an unknown individual.

After the alleged stabbing, the attacker fled the scene.

The girl was treated at Cary Medical Center in Caribou and released later that day.

Police said the victim described the suspect as having brown eyes and wearing dark clothing and a mask.

Investigators believe the stabbing was an isolated incident.

Physical evidence was gathered at the crime scene and is being analyzed along with information garnered through interviews.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Caribou Police Department at 493-3301.
