At Mars Hill, sophomore righthander Logan McLaughlin pitched a no-hitter to carry the Pan-thers past the Warriors. McLaughlin struck out nine, walked two and hit a batter while being backed by errorless defense. He surrendered a run in the fourth on a walk, a stolen base and an eventual sacrifice fly by Steve Grant of Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. McLaughlin also stroked three singles with an RBI, while Mitch Folsom and Brendan York hit RBI doubles.

Katahdin 10, Schenck 1

At Stacyville, Andy Kay singled twice and drove home three runs as the Cougars remained unbeaten. Andrew Hawkins added a double and a single for Katahdin, while Kolby Gallagher tripled. John Sirois paced Schenck of East Millinocket with a double, single and two RBIs.

Fort Fairfield 10, Hodgdon 4

At Fort Fairfield, Austin Dufour pitched a seven-hitter and Austin Bixler had three singles to lead the Tigers past Hodgdon. Eric Lundquist also had three singles and drove in three runs to pace the Fort Fairfield offense. Brian Bixler had two singles and three RBIs. For the host Hawks, Jake Tidd and Levi Scott each hit two singles.

Madawaska 18, LCS/MSSM 8

At Limestone, Curtis Thibeault helped lead an 18-hit attack with three singles and three RBIs for the Madawaska Owls against Limestone/Maine School of Science and Math. Ethan Welch had two singles and two RBIs for the Owls. Danny Cote had two singles and an RBI for the Ea-gles. Barry King had a single and three RBIs.

John Bapst 3, Ellsworth 0

At Ellsworth, sophomore righthander Chris Hammond pitched a two-hitter as the Crusaders picked up the victory. Hammond struck out six batters and walked no one, yielding only singles to Brad Folmer and Adam Kaspala. Matt Duplisea had two singles, an RBI and a run scored for John Bapst, while Casey Hull doubled and singled and Bill Wetherbee singled twice.

Woodland 2, Machias 1

At Woodland, Ben Sears walked, stole second, went to third on an error and scored on a passed ball to provide the Dragons their winning run. Sears also singled for Woodland, while Aaron St. Pierre tripled and scored the Dragons’ other run in support of winning pitcher Andy Brown, who struck out four and walked one. Matt Little singled and scored in the fourth inning for Machias on an RBI single by Jacob Stevens. Little also pitched a three-hitter with 11 strike-outs and five walks.

Bucksport 4, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Tim Nason pitched a four-hitter, striking out three and walking only one as Bucksport triumphed. Cody Farrell doubled in a run while Kyle McGeechen and Tyler French each had an RBI single for the Golden Bucks. Steven Klenowski and Andrew Giosia each dou-bled. Zak Kochis had two singles for Old Town.

Brewer 8, Lawrence 3

At Fairfield, Billy Bissell hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to expand a 2-1 lead and also had three singles to lead Brewer past Lawrence of Fairfield. Eric White hit a two-run homer in the seventh for the winners while Chase Daniels had two doubles and an RBI and Jor-dan Richards had a double and a sacrifice fly. Jordan Smith pitched five innings of three-hit, one-run ball to pick up the win. He struck out five and walked three. Brock Lawrence’s two sin-gles, Chris DeRaps’ RBI double and Chris Folsom’s RBI single led Lawrence.



Madawaska 5, LCS/MSSM 2

At Limestone, Ashley Beaulieu struck out 10 as Madawaska defeated Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics in a battle of unbeatens. Amanda Nadeau singled three times to lead the Owls offense. Victoria St. Pierre hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Eagles.

Ashland 15, Van Buren 2

At Van Buren, Crystal Cook hit three singles and a double and scored three runs to lead Ash-land to their third win. Whitney Donovan added two doubles, a single and three RBIs, while Anna Paradis singled twice and doubled with an RBI. Naomi Maldonado had an RBI double for Van Buren, while Shawna Lapointe singled and scored.

Fort Fairfield 18, Hodgdon 8

At Fort Fairfield, Sarah Hebert doubled, singled twice and drove home three runs as Fort Fairfield earned the six-inning win. Courtney Churchill and Kelsie Wilson each singled twicew for the Tigers. Whitney Wallace doubled and singled twice for Hodgdon, while Taylor Hovey doubled and singled.

Woodland 13, Machias 1

At Woodland, Shelby Bassett pitched a five-inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts to help the Dragons remain undefeated. Julia Nicholas led the Woodland offense with a triple, double, sin-gle and two RBIs, while Bassett and Taylor Cochran each singled twice with two RBIs and Molly White also singled twice. Courtney Dahl’s RBI single in the fourth inning was Machias’ lone hit.

Sumner 6, Orono 5

At Orono, Lona Sargent had a double, a single and two RBIs while also earning the win over Sumner of East Sullivan with six strong innings from the circle. In the sixth, Sarah Leighton led off with a single, moved to second and third on groundouts, and scored the winning run on Ashley Pennartz’s single. Elizabeth Fox had two doubles, a single, and two RBIs for the Red Ri-ots. Sarah Thibeault doubled and singled.

John Bapst 14, Ellsworth 0

At Ellsworth, Laura Jordan pitched a one-hit shutout to lift John Bapst of Bangor over Ellsworth. Jordan allowed two walks and struck out three for the Crusaders. She also singled twice and knocked in a run. Abby Perkins had a single, RBI and scored two runs. Ellsworth’s Kayla Blanchard broke up the no-hitter with one out in the fifth inning with a single through the left side.

Brewer 12, Lawrence 0

At Fairfield, Amanda Ryan and Melanie Judkins combined for a one-hit shutout as Brewer defeated Lawrence. Jordan Nickerson hit a three-run triple in the fourth inning for Brewer. Amanda Ryan hit an RBI triple and Amy Adams doubled. Megan Lovley singled in the fourth for Lawrence.
