BREWER – John C. Campbell Sr. died peacefully in his sleep April 28, 2009, at his home with his family at his side after a long, courageous battle with ALS – Lou Gehrig’s Disease. He was born Oct. 20, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Patrick H. and Roselle (Turner) Campbell. John was an avid outdoorsman and really loved spending his free time in the field doing the things about which he was passionate, whether hunting, fishing, camping or just sitting outdoors in the open air laughing and joking with his many dear friends and loving family. Whether hanging out with a friend or singing to his children, John’s guitar was never far from him. He had a deep love of music that he expressed through playing guitar, singing or just listening to his many favorite artists. John, often being the life of the party, was a happy-go-lucky fellow with a great sense of humor who treasured life for everything that it was. John made sure he lived every one of life’s moments to the fullest, making sure to leave many great memories to anyone that knew him. John was an unforgettable man who will be deeply missed and always remembered with a smile by any and all that knew him. John was the proud father of three children, John C. Campbell Jr. and his wife, Joanna, of Bangor, Timothy Campbell of Bangor and Courtney Campbell of Yuma, Ariz.; seven grandchildren that he loved very much; three sisters, Carolyn Campbell of Wellington, Fla., Kathleen Gagnon and her husband, Joe, of Brewer and Rosemarie Eggert and her husband, Mike, of Charlotte, Vt.; and three brothers, Patrick Campbell of Lucerne, Steve Campbell and his wife, Patricia, of Brewer and Michael Campbell of Bangor. He was predeceased by his two infant siblings, Roselle and Douglas. He will be dearly missed by his niece and caregiver, Danielle Kenney and her husband, John, of Hermon; many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. A service in honor and celebration of John’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
