VAN BUREN – Andrew Grivois, 87, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, at a Caribou health care facility, after a short battle with cancer. After serving in the Army during World War II, Andrew returned home and went to work as a mechanic for Van Buren Motors. He also worked as a mechanic for Van Buren school district for many years until his retirement in 1984. After his retirement, he enjoyed playing cards, riding around town and spending quality time with his great-granddaughters. Andrew is survived by one son, Roger Grivois and his wife, Norma, of St. David; one grandson, Dennis Grivois and his wife, April, of Milford; one granddaughter, Tracie Boucher and her husband, Andre, of Fort Kent; two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Abigail of Fort Kent; two brothers, George Grivois and his wife, Verny, of East Hartford, Conn., and Albert Grivois of Easton; one sister, Jeannine Bouchard and her husband, Joel, of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Annette (Beaulieu) Grivois, Jan. 27, 2000; by four brothers, Emery, John, Clifford and Gerard; and one sister, Doris Theriault. There will be no visiting hours per Andrew’s request. A memorial service will be held noon Saturday, May 2, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be held later this spring.
