Searsport 4, Dexter 1

At Searsport, Olivia Quigley scattered 10 hits, striking out four and not walking anyone, and Marissa Higgins’ sacrifice fly broke a 1-1 tie in a two-run fourth inning for the Vikings. Shannon Higgins and Emily Gilotti had two singles and an RBI apiece for the winners. Sam Conway, Kirstie Mower and Olivia Gardner had two singles apiece for Dexter and Conway had an RBI. Gardner hurled a complete-game six-hitter.

Woodland 9, Washington Acad. 5

At East Machias, Shelby Bassett fired a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and rapped a triple and two singles to lead the Dragons to victory.Julia Nicholas hit a triple and two singles for Woodland.Andi Flannery doubled and singled for Washington Academy.

Hermon 7, MDI 1

At Bar Harbor, Erin Arnold and Lily Barry each plated two runs with a double and a single to power the Hawks to victory.Sami Schlute singled three times behind winning pitcher Debbie Colpitts, who fired a four-hitter and fanned eight. Emily Walton hit a run-scoring single for Mount Desert Island.

Medomak Valley 8, Belfast 0

At Belfast, Kayla Vannah fashioned a three-hitter, striking out 16 and walking one, to set the tone for the Panthers. Tessa Dodge rapped a triple and two singles for Medomak Valley of Waldoboro. Danica Simmons doubled and singled. Hayley Rae, Caroline Carr and Haver hit singles for Belfast.

Jones.-Beals 16, Narraguagus 4

At Jonesport, BreAnna Beal allowed only one hit and struck out six to lead the Royalettes by the Knights of Harrington. Beal aided her own cause with a double, two singles and five RBIs. Robbi Carver chipped in with a double, single and two RBIs, Sarah Milliken notched a two-run single, and Katie Alley had an RBI single. Kayla Collora singled in the fifth for the Knights.

Penquis 11, Orono 8

At Milo, Brandon Smith drove in three runs with a homer and two singles; Eddie Cobb doubled twice and knocked in two runs and Kiel Larson walloped a two-run homer as Penquis outlasted Orono. Phil Benoit had three singles for Orono, Charlie Boyle had a pair of singles and Anthony Cyr and Kash Keezer belted solo homers.

Georges Valley 15, MV Falcons 15

At Rumford, junior righthander Danielle Frye recorded her third no-hitter in three seasons against the Falcons. Frye improved to 29-1 over three seasons as she struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter. Catlyn Rich paced the Buccaneers of Thomaston with a double, single and four RBIs and Jessie Veilleux added three RBIs on a double and single. Jill Bradbury chipped in with a triple, single and two RBIs, Frye had a double, single and two RBIs and Erin Judkins had a two-run double.

Ban. Christian 8, DI-Stonington 6

At Deer Isle, Chelsea Brasslett had a run-scoring single in the fourth inning as Bangor Christian scored three times to extend its lead to 8-3 before holding off Deer Isle-Stonington. Winning pitcher Monica Alexander pitched a three-hitter, striking out seven and walking eight, and she aided her own cause with an RBI single. Kelly Robinson had the other Bangor Christian hit, also a single. Anika Powers hit a solo homer and a single for Deer Isle-Stonington and Britnie Jones singled. Erika Hutchins hurled three innings of no-hit shutout relief.

Hampden 9, Lawrence 3

At Hampden, the Broncos pushed across seven runs in the bottom of the fifth en route to defeating Lawrence of Fairfield. Katherine Danforth doubled and tripled to knock in two runs while Sarah Flagg plated a run with a triple and Kaitlyn Haase another with a double. Janie O’Halloran hit an RBI triple for Lawrence while Macie Metcalf and Jess Poulin each doubled.

Messalonskee 9, Brewer 2

At Coffin Field in Brewer, the Eagles capitalized on walks and errors to put together two big innings and beat the Witches, snapping Brewer’s 16-game winning streak. Winning pitcher Sarah Boynton spaced six hits with six strikeouts and two walks. She also hit an RBI single. Julia Fekek had a single and two RBIs. Emily Fraser hit an RBI single and Amanda Ryan a run-scoring double in Brewer’s two-run seventh. Amy Adams tripled in the inning.

Orono 4, Penquis 3

At Milo, Elizabeth Fox drove in two runs with a single in the third to lift the Red Riots to the win.

Caleigh Paul added a pair of singles for Orono while Andrea Frost compiled 13 strikeouts. Shelby Weston singled twice (RBI) for Penquis while Shelby Fowles and Erica Lyford, who struck out nine in the loss, both singled.

Old Town 3, Central 2

At Old Town, McKayla Gastia pinch ran for Hanna Morin (single) in the sixth inning and stole second, advanced on a sacrifice and scored on a wild pitch to give the Coyotes the margin of victory. Morin pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and three walks for Old Town. Whitney Buck hit an RBI single, Hilary Campbell doubled and Whitney Leland singled, stole two bases and scored a run. Sam Blanchard singled and scored for Central of Corinth, which turned a triple play in the game.

Piscataquis 7, Lee Acad. 3

At Lee, Abby Burdin of Piscataquis Community High of Guilford pitched a three-hitter to outduel Lee Academy’s Jenna Cowan. Emily Knight hit a two-run single in the fifth for the Pirates and Cyndi Currier had an RBI single. Cowan allowed only two hits and struck out 11 in a losing cause. She hit a run-scoring single and scored a run.

Houlton 9, PVHS 8 (8 inns.)

At Houlton, Chelsi Murray’s two-run homer with one out in the seventh inning tied it and two errors surrounding Courtney Putnam’s sacrifice in the eighth produced the winning run. Nikki Eastman and Taylor Bailey had two singles apiece for Houlton while Julie Theriault tripled and singled for Penobscot Valley of Howland and Christina Hallett had a pair of base hits. Theriault and Hallett each knocked in a run.

LCS/MSSM 13, So. Aroostook 7

At Limestone, Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics scored 10 runs in the fourth inning as the Eagles beat Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Victoria St. Pierre hit at two-run double for the Eagles and Stacy Bernier added a two-run single. Jasmine Rockwell led the Warriors with two doubles, two singles and two runs scored. Elizabeth Goodall hit a solo home run in the third inning and a single.

Katahdin 24, Fort Fairfield 10

At Fort Fairfield, the Cougars of Stacyville scored in every inning despite picking up only four hits. Mia Smallwood and Olivia McNally each singled for Katahdin, which scored 10 times in the first. Courtney Churchill had two singles and a double and Emily Wiseman a double for Fort Fairfield.

Bangor 9, Nokomis 0

At Bangor, junior righthander Sam Bedore pitched a two-hitter, striking out 12 and walking nobody as the Rams cruised past Nokomis of Newport in their home opener. Bedore was in control right from the outset, allowing harmless singles in the third and fourth innings and facing two batters over the minimum.She was backed by a five-run uprising in the second, with all five runs scoring after two were out.

Erin Dean sparked the uprising with a two-run single to center field on a 3-2 pitch while Bedore and Eliza Estabrook also singling in runs for 2-1 Bangor. Meg Doucette drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the third while Dean went 3-for-3 with three singles and Jeri Cosgrove 2-for-3 with two singles. Heidi Wyman and Marissa Shaw had the lone hits for 0-2 Nokomis.

Orono 9, Stearns 4

At Millinocket on Saturday, Riley Mahan recorded four singles and drove in a run to lead the Red Riots to victory. Jade Keezer chipped in with a double, single and an RBI for the winners and Caleigh Paul added a two-run single. Katie Mills hit a two-run home run for Stearns and Paige Curtis had an RBI single.

GSA 15, Stearns 2

At Millinocket, Stevie Theoharidis singled twice, doubled and drove in two runs to help George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill roll by Stearns. Alida Peake contributed with two singles, a double and RBI for the winners, Sabrina Vivian added three singles and an RBI and Lydia Clapp had a two-run single. Kristine Tracy doubled twice and drove in a run for Stearns and Paige Curtis had a run-producing single.

BASEBALL

Medomak 15, Belfast 7

At Belfast, Dale Winchenbach drove in five runs with a three-run homer and two-run triple to lead Medomak of Waldoboro past Belfast. Dustin Ozier and John Bartlett each singled and scored three times for the Panthers. Jack Davis paced Belfast with a double, three singles and three runs. Derek Bernosky singled and doubled (RBI) and scored twice while Cody Ward had two singles and an RBI.

Bangor Chr. 11, DI-Stonington 5

At Deer Isle, Brett Bradford hit a three-run homer while Jon Johnson added a solo shot and three singles as the Patriots triumphed. Zach Welch had a pair of singles for the winners. Jon Lymburner singled three times (RBI) for Deer Isle-Stonington while Eben Powers had two singles with an RBI and Deven Haskell an RBI single.

Jonesport-Beals 5, Narraguagus 3

At Jonesport, Cam Farris’ two-run double in the three-run second inning erased a 2-1 deficit and led Jonesport-Beals past Narraguagus of Harrington. Zach Fenton pitched a five-hitter for the win, striking out seven and walking six. Farris also had a single to go with his double and Harold Lyons had a pair of singles. Sid Look had an RBI single. Nathan Dublin had an RBI single for Narraguagus and Jeremy Look pitched a six-hit complete game.

Washington Acad. 6, Woodland 1

At East Machias, the Raiders scored five times in the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie. Bryce Colbeth stroked two singles with three RBIs and pitched a five-hitter with eight strikeouts and two walks for Washington Academy. Kyle Pike singled twice for Woodland and Ryan Schoppee added two singles to back relief loser Andy Brown.

Machias 5, Calais 4

At Machias, Jacob Stevens hit a sacrifice fly and Matt Little doubled to score Phillip Morse and Sam Whitney, respectively, as the Bulldogs tallied the winning run.Stevens pitched a four-hitter with eight strikeouts and also doubled for the Bulldogs. Whitney added another single. Losing pitcher Josh Gillespie scattered seven hits with nine strikeouts and helped his own cause with a double, a single and two RBIs.

George Stevens 9, Stearns 6

At Millinocket, Pete Dickinson hit a leadoff double to ignite a seven-run, first-inning rally and stroked a two-run triple later in the inning to lead the Eagles to victory. Winning pitcher Nick Saunders smacked a solo home run and a single and Tom Crowe hit three singles for George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill. Nate Hines added a two-run single in the first inning. Cory Barnett paced Stearns with three singles and two RBIs. Garen Manzo singled twice with two RBIs and Jason Levasseur contributed two singles.

Hermon 11, MDI 10

At Bar Harbor, Brian Day singled three times and drove in two runs as Hermon held on for the win. Jesse Graffam and Brad Deabay each singled twice for the Hawks. Devin Young and Dennis O’Neil each had two singles and three RBIs for MDI. Jasper Cousins doubled and singled for two RBIs while Sam Stewart singled twice to plate two more.

Searsport 18, Dexter 3

At Searsport, junior righthander Evan Kingsbury notched four no-hit innings to give Searsport the victory. He struck out 11 and walked one. Matt Bagley doubled, singled and drove in three runs to lead the Vikings and Rocky Faunce added two singles and an RBI. Kingsbury also singled twice. C.J. Giles hit a two-run single in the fifth for Dexter.

Oak Hill 7, Rockland 5

At Sabattus, Oak Hill plated six runs in the sixth to take the victory. Zach Lennett and Joey Turcotte each hit RBI singles for the Raiders. Dylan Meklin doubled and singled while Luke Morrill had two singles for Rockland.

Gardiner 4, Mount View 2

At Gardiner, Donny Gray recorded three singles and drove in a run to lead the Tigers by the Mustangs of Thorndike. Mike Phelps chipped in with a two-run single in the fifth inning for the winners. Zach Babin notched a two-run single for the Mustangs.

Lee 18, Piscataquis 14

At Lee, Isaac Mallett collected four singles, two RBIs and four stolen bases as Lee defeated Piscataquis of Guilford. A.J. Harris had two singles and a triple, Dylan Whirty an RBI double and Dean MacDonald two singles for the Pandas. Nolan Lovell and Yaal Kand each doubled and singled for the Pirates.

Bangor 18, Nokomis 1

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Dan Taft allowed only one hit and a run while striking out four and walking one to lead Bangor by the Warriors of Newport. Lonnie Hackett doubled twice and Chad Kelley added two singles and a double to lead the Bangor offense. Codi McInnis chipped in with a three-run double, Mack Susi doubled and singled, and Ryan LaRochelle singled twice. Mike White singled twice and had an RBI for Nokomis.

Central 9, Old Town 8

At Old Town, Josh Collins’ sacrifice fly scored Jacob Speed (single) in the seventh inning to enable the Red Devils to hold off the Coyotes. Collins also belted a solo home run for Central of Corinth. Speed, the winning pitcher, stroked a three-run double in the second and another double in the sixth, while John Harvey doubled and singled. Dan LeBreton hit two run-scoring singles for Old Town. Cody Cross provided an RBI double.

Penobscot Valley 12, Houlton 5

At Houlton, Anthony Batchelder knocked in four runs with three singles and scattered 10 hits with 12 strikeouts while going the distance on the mound to lead the Howlers of Howland. Kevin Jipson and Ethan Batineau each posted two singles and an RBI and Jake Jones added two singles for Penobscot Valley. Levi Prosser singled four times with three RBIs to pace Houlton. Ian Gervais also went 4-for-4 with four singles and scored three times.

Messalonskee 15, Brewer 4

At Brewer, Matt Stewart pitched a complete game and singled four times, doubled and drove in six runs as Messalonskee of Oakland rallied for the win. Cale Knox hit an RBI triple while Sam Dexter and Nick Booth contributed RBI doubles for the Eagles. Chase Daniels singled in a run and hit a solo homer while Eric White homered and singled for Brewer. Coby Hutchins tripled.

Cen. Aroostook 12, Madawaska 2

At Mars Hill, Logan McLaughlin tossed a three-hitter, striking out 10 and walking three, as Central Aroostook beat Madawaska in a game that lasted five innings due to the mercy rule. Kasey Brewer drove in four runs for the winners with a two-run homer and a pair of doubles and Manny Martinez hit a two-run homer. Garrett Stiles had a single and three RBIs. Ethan Welch, Jeff Cyr and Curtis Thibeault had singles for Madawaska.

Katahdin 17, Fort Fairfield 4

At Fort Fairfield, Josh Guiggey doubled, singled and drove in three runs to lead Katahdin to victory.

Andy Kay chipped in with two singles and an RBI for the Cougars of Stacyville. Josh Churchill and Ian Towle each singled twice for Fort Fairfield.

So. Aroostook 12, LCS/ MSSM 0

At Limestone, Steven Grant pitched a five-inning, one-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk and he also singled twice to propel the Warriors to victory. Cody Robinson hit a two-run home run for Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Aaron St. Pierre hit a fourth-inning single for Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
