WATERBURY, Conn. – Max-ine Corning Pomeroy, 87, formerly of Waterbury, Conn., and wife of the late Oural B. Pomeroy, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, Conn. Mrs. Pomeroy was born March 19, 1922, in Danforth, the daughter of the late Clyde and Margaret (Boyle) Corning. She was a longtime Waterbury, Conn., resident having moved to the city more than 65 years ago from Maine. She had worked at Waterbury Hospital for more than 30 years in the radiology department before retiring in 1984. Mrs. Pomeroy is survived by her son, Donald E. Pomeroy and his wife, Linda, of Prospect, Conn.; her two daughters, Juanita Landry and her husband, Roger, of East Haven, Conn., and Sheila Kronen and her husband, Donald, of Ocala, Fla.; her sister, Mildred Cote of Old Town; her grandchildren, Christopher Pomeroy, Matthew Stocking, Stacy Petrosky, Mark Stocking, Rebecca Zinko and Timothy Landry; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Albert, Clyde and Claire Corning; and her sister, Louise Emerson. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave., Waterbury, Conn. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Riverside Cemetery, Maine.
