ROQUE BLUFFS – Logan J. Preston, 19, died unexpectedly March 25, 2009, due to an accident while aboard the All American fishing vessel. He was born Nov. 21, 1989, in Machias, the son of Roger Preston and Caroline Preston. Logan began lobster fishing and digging clams in Roque Bluffs at a young age with his father and grandfather. Logan’s passion for the fishing industry and strong work ethic led him to full-time work with his father as a stern man on the All American. Logan was an avid hunter and spent hunting seasons with his father; brother, Kristopher; and close family friend, Mike Kelley. Logan is survived by his father, Roger Preston and stepmother, Lisa Bean, of Roque Bluffs; his mother, Caroline Preston and stepfather, Shawn Smith, of Hermon. He leaves behind his brothers, Kristopher and Kaiden Preston; sister, Paige Preston, all of Roque Bluffs; his paternal grandparents, James and Marguerite Preston of Roque Bluffs; his girlfriend, Chelsea Hodgson of Roque Bluffs; his stepgrandmother, Joan Bean of Winterport; several aunts and uncles, Wallace Preston and Sally Ashby, Ronnie Preston and Dolly Blyther of Roque Bluffs, Donna Preston and Tim Dean of Nashua, N.H., Nettie Mae and William Kilby of Augusta, Terry and Pamela Duran, Robert and Patricia Duran of hermon, Thomas and Marguerite Duran of Crystal Springs, Fla., C.D. and Cathy Duran of Omaha, Neb., Michael Drake of Lagrange, Hal and Marcia Bean, Doug and Karen Bean, Nason and Barbara Bean, Cindy and Michael Frey. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Wesley and Edith Look; and aunt, Iris Sue Look. Logan had many cousins that were very close friends that will miss him dearly. Logan’s entire family gives a special thanks to the U.S. Coast Guard and the Maine Marine Patrol team and Russell Wright, Texas Equusearch and the town of Lubec for all the help and support they have given us during this very difficult time. We are asking that donations in memory of Logan be sent to Texas Equusearch, P.O.
