BANGOR – Kenneth Harry Dyer, 85, died April 23, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Bangor, son of Harry and Ina (Smith) Dyer. Kenneth had been employed with the Public Works Department for the city of Bangor for many years. Kenneth appreciated Bill Rae and enjoyed the people at Manna Ministries, where he went daily. He will be remembered by many as the gentleman who rode his bicycle on the streets of Bangor and Brewer. Surviving are two nephews, David Thurlow and his wife, Patricia, of Virginia and Dana Thurlow and his wife, Georgia, of Brewer; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Dyer of Brewer; a niece, Diana White; several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Thurlow; and two brothers, Stillman and Burdette Dyer. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, with Jacqueline MacDermott officiating.
