FAUAD M. ‘FRED’ GEORGE JR.

BANGOR – Fauad M. “Fred” George Jr., 59, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Bangor, son of Fauad and Hildred (Lane) George. Fred loved his career as a painter with Bangor Housing Authority. He had many hobbies, including restoring cars, building models and collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. He will be remembered as a charitable donator and longtime Oakland Raiders fan. Fred is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Bobbett, her husband, David, and their daughter, Alyssa, of Palm Bay, Fla.; and Wendy Privett, her husband, Scott, and their daughters, Madison and McKenna of Wetumpka, Ala.; brother, Richard George and his wife, Amy, of Bangor; sisters, Laura Monteith of Brewer and Donna Bushey and her husband, James, of Bangor; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Justine Jackson; and special friends, Brenda Brown, and Tony and Marisa Lane. In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brother, Robert. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
