HOLDEN – Nancy M. Holyoke, 65, died unexpectedly April 22, 2009, at her home. She was born July 8, 1943, in Bangor, the daughter of John W. and Helen J. (Bowden) Holyoke. Nancy grew up and attended Brewer schools, graduating from Brewer High School in 1961. She also attended the University of Maine and graduated from nursing school in New Hampshire in 1971. Nancy worked in nursing throughout her working career, including time as a psychiatric aide, in obstetrics, medical-surgical, intensive care unit and as a clinical instructor. She worked for 22 years as a nurse for American Red Cross Blood Donation Center, Bangor and throughout Maine, where she was a welcomed face to many donors and where she met many friends. Nancy is survived by one nephew, cousins and many dear friends. A memorial reception honoring her life will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Ramada Inn, Odlin Road, Bangor.
