AMHERST – Doris L. Hayward, 76, died April 14, 2009, at her home, with her son and daughter-in-law at her side. She was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Springvale, the daughter of Omer and Yvonne (Perrault) Cote. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son and his wife, Randy Hayward and Joline of Amherst; two daughters, Pam Hayward of Ellsworth and Claire Babin of Meadville, Pa.; two brothers, Norman Cote, and Paula of Massachusetts and Richard Cote and Shirley of South Carolina; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her son, Michael Hayward; her brother, Wilbur Cote; and her sister. The family thanks St. Joseph Hospice, and especially Lynn Jones and Marilyn Vosine for their loving support and care. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at Mount Rest Cemetery, Amherst, with the Rev. Lisa Jones officiating. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
