ROBERT NOYES LADD

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Robert Noyes Ladd, 82, husband of the late Addie L. (Hussey) Ladd, went to be with his Lord April 11, 2009, at a local hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Roy and Harriet (Noyes) Ladd. He graduated from Foxcroft Academy, in 1945. Bob served as a U.S. Army medic in Aberdeen, Md. He was co-owner of LORAIN Trucking Co. for several years before going to work for the town of Dover-Foxcroft as the foreman of public works. He retired in November 1988, after 16 years of service. One of his greatest pleasures was going camping throughout New England with Addie and several of his close friends. He also enjoyed sharing the “Old Crows Table” with many good friends at the Bear’s Den Restaurant and riding old country roads with his dear friend, Esther. Bob was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved giving them tractor rides, as well as building memories in his workshop. His life was enriched by neighbor, friend and caretaker, Debbie and her husband, David. Bob was a member of United Methodist Church and treasurer of the 3M Club, and also a member of Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce L. Davis and husband, Armand, of Shirley, and Rebecca L. Reynolds and husband, Raymond, of Steep Falls; a stepdaughter, Patricia Gould and husband, Ronald, of LaGrange; a sister, Edie L. Hussey and husband, Elwood, of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother, Richard Ladd and wife, Elsie, of Freedom; four grandchildren, James Herrick of South Berwick, Heather Livingstone of Scotland, Emily Jo Ulceus of Long Island, N.Y., and Elizabeth Reynolds of Hollis; two stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery.
