VAN BUREN – Dorice “Dick” R. Madore, 88, joined his heavenly family April 7, 2009. He was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Van Buren, son of the late Sebastian and Sophie (Thibodeau) Madore. Dick owned Seneca Spring manufacturing company before he retired. Dick was a friend to all and enjoyed helping others. He loved a good laugh, card games with friends and winters in Florida. He spent hours in his woodworking shop and took great joy in producing things for friends and family. Dick was predeceased by his seven siblings; and his wife of 59 years, Jeanne (Michaud) Madore. To keep his memory alive, Dick leaves his two children and their spouses, Phil and Margo Madore of Plainville, Conn., and Diane and Ronnie “Joe” Pelletier of St. Augustine, Fla.; plus grandchildren, Pat, Kevin and Missy Madore, Sheri Popovitch and Doug Pelletier. His great-grandchildren also mourn the passing of their “Pepere,” Josh and Abby Popovitch, Kristie, Dariene and Shelby Pelletier and Alex, Carolyn, Nick and Noah Madore; and his great-great-granddaughter, Emma Pelletier. He also leaves his sister-in-law and her husband, Terry and Howard Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews. Dick also leaves his special companion, Germaine LeDuc; and many special friends. The family gives special thanks to the rehabilitation staff at The Hospital for Special Care, New Britain, Conn., and to the first floor nursing staff and Tranquil Passages team of Southington Care for their loving care of Dick and support of his family. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at Bailey Funeral Home, 45 Broad St., Plainville, Conn., where funeral services will held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24. Interment will be after at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville, Conn.
