LINCOLN – The Rev. Ronald E. Campbell, 75, husband of Linda (Hendrickson) Campbell, went home to be with the Lord, whom he served since he was 19 years old, April 8, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born May 14, 1933, in White City, Fla., the son of Cory and Annie (Sullivan) Campbell. Pastor Campbell grew up in White City, Fla., and graduated from Fort Pierce High School. He attended Coyne Electronic School, Chicago, then spent four years in the Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from Bob Jones University in 1960, and served Harmony Baptist Church as pastor for four years. He was a representative for Christ for the Lumberjacks Mission for seven years, and became pastor of First Bible Baptist Church of Lincoln, where he served for 29 years, retiring in 1999. In addition to his wife of 48 years, Linda, he is survived by four children, Carey Campbell and Marie of Ellsworth, Christopher Campbell and Linda of Kodiak, Alaska, Jonathan Campbell and Lisa of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Jennifer Upcott and Terry of Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Jessica Case and Charlie of Rockland, Moriah Campbell, Christopher Campbell Jr. and Abigail Campbell, all of Kodiak, Alaska, Mikayla Upcott, Nathanael Upcott and Alana Upcott, all of Lincoln, Ian Campbell and Colin Campbell, both of Travelers Rest, S.C.; a great-grandchild, Charlie Owen Case of Rockland; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and four sisters, Lyndal Elder, Edna Gideon, Cory Campbell Jr., Alice Spooner and Audrey Schelling. Friends may call 1-3 p.m. Monday at First Bible Baptist Church of Lincoln, Fleming Street, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Terry Upcott officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at Lincoln Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Fred Dobson Memorial Fund at the church.
