EAST MILLINOCKET – Evelyn B. McCormack, 84, wife of Earl McCormack, passed away April 8, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1925, in North Bancroft, the daughter of Fritz and Gladys (Campbell) White. Evelyn worked for the U.S. Navy in Newport, R.I., during World War II. She married Earl McCormack in 1945, and was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her grandchildren. She was part of a close knit family. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of East Millinocket and sold Avon products for 30 years. In addition to her husband, Earl, she is survived by three children, Debra Breunig and Bill of Kings Park, N.Y., Arnold McCormack of East Millinocket, and Lorrie Cooney and Robert of Hummelstown, Pa.; three grandchildren, Allison Giardini and Tony of Brockton, Mass., Meagan Cooney and Erin Cooney, both of Hummelstown, Pa.; a great-grandchild, Angelena Giardini; and three sisters, Nadine Day of Danforth, Irma White of Queensborough, N.Y., and Norma Cottle of Mattawamkeag. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Gregory Breunig; three brothers, Gerald White, Donald White and Paul White; and a sister, Avis Hewey. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of East Millinocket, Oak Street, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Harold Lovestrand officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at East Millinocket Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to First Baptist Church of East Millinocket.
