LINCOLN – Janet L. “Janie” Mahar, 53, passed away April 7, 2009, at her home. She was born Oct. 7, 1955, in Lincoln, the daughter of Richard and Estella (Worster) Mahar. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Mahar; her son, Joel Boyington; her brother, Dennis Mahar and his wife, Sonya; cousin, Bonnie McGaw; Jamie’s fiance, David Chessie; cousins, Stacy McGaw and Craig McGaw; nephews, Russell Knights, Thomas Knights, Craig Knights and Corey Knights; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her much loved aunt, Dorothy Webster; and cousin, Tammy McGaw. Janie loved her family and friends. She inspired them all with her courage, strength, humor and optimism. She will be sadly missed by her beloved dog, Bobbie-jo. She grew up with and remained life long friends with the McMullen family, the Hall family and the Bruce family. She worked at Lincoln Pulp and Paper for 28 years, and at Acadia Hospital for three years. Her children wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sonya and Dennis for their love and care the past two years. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
