BUCKSPORT – Wallace R. Carrier, 78, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, with his loving family by his side, at his home. He was born in Greenville, the son of Henre L. and Adrienne (Belangeon) Carrier. He worked for the paper mill in Bucksport for 40 years, retiring as a lab foreman. Wallace enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, gardening, flea markets, yard sales, good times at camp and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Wallace was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Phyllis Carrier; one brother, Patrick Carrier Sr.; and one sister, Rose Hachey. Wallace is survived by his children, Jenny Harmon and husband, Phil, William Carrier and wife, Kathy, Michael Carrier and wife, Charlotte, all of Bucksport and Julie Brown and husband, Bill, of Stetson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Jane Day, Marion Palmer and Theresa Bartley; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends will gather for visitation 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
