NEWPORT – Robert R. Blair, 44, died unexpectedly April 2, 2009, at his home. He was born Feb. 6, 1965, in Frankfurt, Germany, the son of Sidney R. and Inge (Exner) Blair. Robert was a graduate of Fort Kent Community High School, Class of 1983. He married Gaetane Guerrette, July 5, 1986, in St Francis. Bob was a machine shop supervisor at FormTek, Clinton, working there for 14 years. He loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed working around his home and caring for his pets and his “silver 300.” Bob is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gaetane “Gate” Blair of Newport; his son, Garret R. Blair of Newport; his daughter, Abby Pelletier of Ells-worth; one brother, Mark Blair of Pittsfield; two sisters and their husbands, Brigitte and Jeffrey Carpenter of Meredith, N.H., and Linda and Luis Gonzalez of Calais; several aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins. Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport, where funeral services will begin 1 p.m. with Pastor Al Worden officiating. Burial will be later this spring at Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to Newport Memorial VFW Post 11191, 123 Main St., Newport, ME 04953, to help with establishing the Veterans’ Memorial Park.
