Crews at work to restore power to Mainers

The Associated Press

BANGOR, Maine — Utility crews have restored power to nearly 2,500 Maine homes and businesses that lost electricity early Monday in weather-related outages.

Bangor Hydro Electric said fewer than 100 customers were without power late Monday morning, down from the more than 2,000 customers without electricity earlier in the morning. Bangor Hydro officials said the outages were likely caused by high winds and cold temperatures and that power lines were reported down in several areas.

Central Maine Power said about 500 customers were without power early Monday morning, but that power was restored to all of them by late morning.
