ISLESBORO – Susan Gray Wilbur, 59, died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006. Born June 23, 1947, in Belfast, she was the daughter of Ralph and Sylvia (Moody) Gray. She was a 1965 graduate of Islesboro High School. On Jan. 30, 1966, she married Thomas R. Wilbur. Susan was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Islesboro Historical Society. She was served on the Islesboro School Board and the Islesboro Cemetery Committee. Susan loved gardening and was a very talented quilter having been very active with the sewing circle at the Second Baptist Church. A devoted caregiver, Susan and her daughter, Michelle, took special care of her parents during their elder years. Surviving are her three children, Michelle Wilbur and her partner, Kevin Gautreau, of Lincolnville, Sarah Randlett and her husband, Sandy and Seth Wilbur and his partner, Tara Leach, of Islesboro; one sister, Nancy Sturdee and her husband, Charles, of Camden; four grandchildren, Adin Randlett, Thomas Randlett, Sylvia Randlett and Gray Gautreau. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Wilbur, who died in 2001; and her parents, Ralph and Sylvia Gray. A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Gray Family Cemetery, Islesboro, with the Rev. David Bolton.
