OLD TOWN and WEST WARREN, Mass. – Louis “Louie” C. Comeau, 70, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at his home in West Warren, Mass. He was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Old Town, son of the late Stanley and Regina (Roy) Comeau. Louis was born and educated in Old Town and later moved his family to Springfield, Mass., in 1965. He was a self-employed painter for 46 years in Springfield, Mass., and a property owner in downtown Springfield, Mass. Louis was the most loving husband and father of seven children. He was loved by all who knew him for his fun-loving, easygoing nature. A true, kind and gentle soul who will be forever missed deeply by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Velma E. (Beal) Comeau; daughters, Regina A. Morrissey of Springfield, Mass., Lois C. Harvey of Springfield, Mass., Bonnie L. Morin Jr. and her husband, Robert, Robin L. Thomas and her husband, Troy, of Springfield, Mass.; sons, Louis Comeau Jr. and his wife, Diane, of West Warren, Mass., Stanley L. Comeau and his wife, Lauren, of Springfield, Mass., and Louis C. Comeau III, of Granby, Mass.; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandsons; sisters, Alice Duplisea of Bangor, Doris Fortier of Milford, Delema Gardner of Brewer; and a brother, Joseph Comeau of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his sister, Madelynn Comeau; brothers, Arthur, Stanley Jr., Norman and Lawrence Comeau. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Parish in Old Town, with the Rev. Normand Richard Celebrant. Friends and family are invited to the Holy Family Parish Hall immediately following the service for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
