STILLWATER – Francine M. Stevens, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born April 6, 1921, in Brownville Junction, the daughter of the late Stanley and Marjorie (Stormann) MacMillan. Francine and her family had moved to Trenton, Ontario, when she was a young girl. She had attended schools in her early years in Trenton and later entered Old Town High School graduating in 1938. She also attended Gilman Business School in Bangor. Francine was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Old Town Emblem Club. She had been employed at the James W. Sewall Co. in Old Town for many years, retiring in 1981. Francine enjoyed spending time at Pushaw Pond. She had much enjoyment with her flower garden, knitting, having coffee with friends, playing golf and for several years, she was a member of the Ladies Association of Hermon Meadows Golf Club. Francine is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Emmett; son, Reginald Gordon of Carrabasset Valley; brother, Granville MacMillan and his wife, Phyllis, of Old Town; stepson, Alan Stevens and his wife, Vicki, of Patten; stepdaughter, Karen Millar and her husband, Alan, of Sandpoint, Idaho; four grandchildren, Dawn Libby of Augusta, Melanie True and her husband, Seth, of Hampden, Ashley Gordon and Kimberly Gordon of Carrabasset Valley, four stepgrandchildren, Guy Stevens and his wife, Paula, of Stratton, Jill Stevens of Wilton, Emma and Riley Millar of Sandpoint, Idaho; three great-grandchildren, Riley Francis of Hampden, Sophia and Emma Libby of Augusta; three step-great-grandchildren, Marley Stevens and Cameron Curtiss of Wilton, and Reed Stevens of Stratton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Jerome Gordon; her son, Ronald Gordon; and her sister, Hilda Forbes. A celebration of life will conducted 11 a.m. Friday at the Federated Church of Stillwater, with the Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating. Friends and family are invited to the Church Undercroft immediately following the service for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
