MILFORD – Cecil “Bing” P. Crosby, 82, husband of the late Doreen (Yerxa) Crosby, died peacefully Oct. 21, 2006, surrounded by his family and friends, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born April 17, 1924, in West Enfield, the son of Elbridge C. and Bertha L. (Tinkham) Crosby. Bing served during World War II with the army engineers in India and Burma. He was employed with Downeast Associates for many years. Bing was a life member of the VFW Post 3381 and the China-India-Burma Veterans’ Association, Inc. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church, Milford. Bing was a friend of Bill W. for 27 years. Surviving are two sisters, Ella Page and Ethel Cyr and her husband, Richard, all of Old Town; two brothers, Richard Crosby and his companion, Hope, of Bangor and Maynard Crosby and his companion, Beverly, of Corinna, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bing was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Clarence and Eugene Crosby. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the First Congregational Church, Milford, with the Rev. Patricia Moore, pastor, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share refreshments at the church after the service. Interment will be at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
