BANGOR and FRANKLIN Alphie B. Cyr, 51, dies May 1, 2005, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born Aug. 29, 1953, in Millinocket, the son of the late Alphie and Clotys (Levasseur) Cyr. Al attended Millinocket schools and later earned his GED. He resided and worked in Bangor for many years when in 1984 his cooking talents led him to the Bar Harbor/Ellsworth area. There he worked as a chef and kitchen manager at several establishments including the Bayview Inn, White Birches, and Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, before moving to Wisconsin in 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Cyr of Bangor; brothers, James Cyr of Milford and Reed Gagnon of Indiana; a sister, Ruth Lewin of New Hampshire; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends, including a dear friend, Pat Clark of Wisconsin. He was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda; and son, Marc. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at First Baptist Church, 56 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Stephanie Salinas, pastor, officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
