CARMEL – Albert Bernier, 72, died March 18, 2007. He was born April 28, 1934, in Salem, Mass., the son of Roland and Marie Bernier. Albert served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a nurse at Maine Medical Center, Portland, from where he retired. Albert was a member of the Bangor Elks Lodge No. 244 and a member of the Eagles Club of Brewer. Surviving are his wife, Susan Perkins Bernier of Carmel; his children, Ronald Bernier and his wife, Sandra, of Mississippi, Raymond Bernier and his wife, Teresa, of Colorado, Ann Hicks and her husband, Brian, Madeline Knyff and her husband, Art, all of Massachusetts, Monique Do and her husband, Hung, of Maine, Robert Bernier and his wife, Debbie, of New York; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five sisters, Jeannette Bernier, Simonne Bernier, Clair Camara, Diane Tavares and Teresa Miranda; and two brothers, Maurice Bernier and Donald Bernier. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Bernier. A service in celebration of his life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev.
