ADELLE B. DAY

ELLSWORTH – Adelle B. Day, wife of the late Herva Day, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at an Ellsworth hospital, 22 days short of her 99th birthday. She was born June 19, 1906, in Weehawken, N.H., the daughter of Carl and Mathilda Bauer. Adelle graduated as a registered pediatric nurse from Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, in 1926 and in her career, cared for the children of the Vanderbilt, Roosevelt, Morganthau, and Truman families. She is survived by her cousins, Elsie Klemt of North Carolina and Christopher Klemt of Ellsworth; and eight nieces and nephews. Gifts in memory of Adelle may be sent to the Stanwood Wildlife Sanctuary (Birdsacre), Ellsworth, ME 04605. Cremation arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
