Teaching through cancer

By Linda Coan O'Kresik, Special to the BDN

Gert Nesin, an eighth grade teacher at Leonard Middle School in Old Town, was diagnosed with breast cancer in the summer of 2013. Nesin, who continues to bring her well-known, upbeat attitude, is using her situation to help her students better understand cancer.
