Some striper anglers still fishing the Penobscot, others gave up

In 2006, Maine anglers caught 4.1 million striped bass, and the Penobscot River was swarmed with anglers. Five years later, just more than 160,000 stripers were caught statewide. Today, not many stripers return to the Penobscot and few anglers target them.
