Increased oyster farming on the Bagaduce River raises concerns for area residents

The number of aquaculture operations in the Bagaduce River has increased sharply in recent years, which has led to competing concerns between Penobscot residents who say it is having a negative impact and fishermen who say they need to earn a living. More than 150 people attended a recent meeting in Penobscot to voice their concerns or support about the leases.
