The coldest, darkest months of the year are a stark contrast to the summer season, when hundreds of tourists and part-time residents flood the Acadia National Park outpost. Residents here say everything is more expensive, more difficult. Over the decades, the challenges of life here have driven many people away. What keeps these dedicated few here?
