Ben Folds Five and Barenaked Ladies bring Bangor into their act

By Brian Feulner, BDN Staff
During a Ben Folds Five set Sunday evening at the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, a train came rolling through Bangor passing by the stage. The engineer blew the horn and the band stopped playing. Folds then started playing the Trolley song from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. Later when Barenaked Ladies took the stage, lead singer Ed Robertson made up a song, including a rap, about the Penobscot River and Bangor. All this after he claimed to have jumped off a pier and had taken a swim in the river before the start of the show.
