Defense attorney James Howaniec, representing Kristina Lowe of West Paris, said his client's statement that she was texting at the time of a Jan. 7, 2012, car crash that killed two passengers should remain inadmissible in court. Lowe faces multiple charges, including two counts of manslaughter, for her role in the crash. The Maine Supreme Judicial Court heard oral arguments in the case Monday at the Cumberland County courthouse in Portland.
