10,000 gallon tank catches fire in Carmel

Emergency personnel responded to a hazardous material fire at Ideal Recycling Inc. on Route 2 in Carmel on Tuesday morning. A 10,000 gallon tank that still had some sludge on the bottom caught fire. Fire departments working the scene were from  Carmel, Hermon, Levant, Stetson, Holden and the Air National Guard. The Air National Guard brought their foam trailer to tackle the chemical fire. The Department of Environmental Protection was also on the scene.
