Celtics Ticket Contest Rules and Explanation

The BDN system for reporting high school games online will continue for the fall 2012 season. We are again requiring high schools to report their games on the website instead of calling or faxing us.

Doing so is the best way to guarantee the game will appear on the BDN website and in the newspaper.

FOR ALL GAMES, we are asking school coaches or managers to list: Each team’s record, the first and last names of players mentioned for each team, and key highlights from the game.

FOR SOCCER and FIELD HOCKEY, we are asking for the goals and assists for each team, total shots, and total saves for each goalkeeper.

FOR FOOTBALL, we are asking for a scoring summary for each team’s touchdowns, extra points and field goals. We will also take a linescore and stats of leading players.

FOR VOLLEYBALL, we are asking for the stats of the leading players for each team.

TO REPORT a soccer, field hockey or football game or a volleyball match, go to the BDN website, visit bangordailynews.com/sports/scores, click on your game or match, add the information and hit submit. Do not hit submit until you have added all of your information.

We also ask schools to email results to us for other high school events, such as golf and cross country, in a plain-text, paragraph format that does not include tabs or columns.

Those seeking more information about the online system may email the BDN sports desk at bdnsports@bangordailynews.com

To win the Boston Celtics tickets, your sport scores must be submitted to the BDN website or emailed to the BDN.  The high school team/coach that does the best job of reporting games and highlights over the next few weeks will receive 4 free tickets to a future November/December Boston Celtics game.  Those seeking more information may send an email to bdnsports@bangordailynews.com.  Each reported game is considered an entry.  Only coaches or those designated by coaches can report games. The winning team name will be drawn in early November (the end of the fall season).  A total of 4 tickets to a November/December Celtics game will be delivered.  The winning  will be available by e-mailing ssund@bangordailynews.com . No cash equivalent will be awarded. Winners will be contacted via phone, mail or e-mail and agree to accept conditions of contest. Employees of Bangor Publishing Co. Inc., its affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to enter to win. Bangor Publishing Co. Inc. reserves the right to end or extend the contest or change prize values at any time. All decisions are final. This contest is void where prohibited.
