BANGOR, Maine — “The Midwest Rock ’N’ Roll Express” brought Styx, REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent to the Bangor Waterfront on Sunday, July 8.
The 63-year-old Nugent’s solo career has spawned 13 studio albums, three of them multiplatinum albums. His biggest hit single, “Cat Scratch Fever,” peaked at No. 30 in 1977 and propelled the same-titled album to triple-platinum status.
Nugent faced criticism this year, including from two Bangor city councilors, for comments he made during a National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis.
