After 54 years with the BDN, Tom Hennessey is marking the official end of his career, which began in 1959 as an apprentice printer.

We will miss Tom’s regular visits to the newsroom to ensure his art was properly scanned, that his column had successfully arrived to our computers through the “interwebs,” and often to give us his latest, matter-of-fact thoughts on the news story of the day.

Please enjoy this look at some of Tom’s work, which we’ve all had the pleasure of enjoying over the years. We wish him the best as he enjoys his retirement, which I anticipate will be filled with family, fishing, hunting and plenty of time in the great Maine outdoors.
