This is my &quotPack Shack." I got it out on the ice just in time for the Super Bowl. We are originally from Wisconsin so it's only fitting. It took me about two months to build. It's made out of insulated garage doors

My ice shack has all kinds of neat pictures in it. It has indoor and out door lights, it also has a bathroom and a see through roof. My shack also has a solar panel to make the battery run and run the lights.

I don't consider my shack great, but it's different. It was an experiment at Wyman's Blueberry Co. to check on insects and whatever on their berry bushes.

&quotThe Lakehouse" that Ron Ingals of Hermon built is mostly scavenged materials supplemented with $150 worth of purchased items. It features a large picture window, a spice cabinet (Ron likes to cook) a wood stove and home sewn curtains to name a few. All told, ice auger and snowmobile included, his investment is $250. Ron has three kids, so frugality is not an option, it is a requirement, he says.

It used to be a 1979 coachman rv. I stripped it down and built a shack, to my likin', from the ground up. It has a cathedral ceiling, with metal roof. Woodstove, tv,cable and internet wired.Wood floor in back half and custom carpet in front.

Taj Mahal, no cabin fever here. We brought the living room to the lake. The shack has two halfs when together it measures 16' by 16'. Also we knew we needed some elbow room, for after a long day of fishing things can get a little unruly. Amenities include 23" color TV, DVD, VCR, satellite radio, bath room, 3 bunkbeds, solar pannels built into the roof.

I needed an ice shack that made me &quotfishing mobile" with the comforts of camp. Roof design that shed rain/snow, will track in ATV trails, and light enough to handle myself. Shack has a 11" x 11" x 18" wood burning stove for cooking, and bench for creature comforts that will keep 1-2 men fishing strong.

I have two shacks. This one, the larger, 4 by 8 at its base with cantilevered walls to increase room inside with an advantage of seating and storage. Wood heat and tempered glass windows, and painted black for heat gain from the sun. It has a through rod tie down system and seats 4-5. The larger shack is a Deadman's Rock on Schoodic Lake.

I have two ice shacks. This is the smaller of the two. It is 3 by 4 feet with a cantilever to add more interior space. It is a tag-along with propane heat, Plexiglass windows and is painted black for solar gain. It will seat two in cozy comfort.

Asa Jones constructed this 8’ x 16’ ice shack in 2008. It resides on Green Lake for the season. He painted it green and gay for his district winning softball. It features Pergo flooring salvaged from a camp on Green Lake, dark blue carpet through out the rest of the shack. The shack is wired for electricity and lilghts and is equipped with a hand made ice box with a pantry on top of it to store all the ice shack munchies. It has a built in cupboard that houses paper essentials and on top a propane cook stove. It has a one of a kind wood stove built out of a pressure tank I’m a well driller). In addition to a great fishing shack it hosts up to 9 for regular card games

This light weight portable shack is built on a magnum jet sled and measures approximately 4x6 feet. The camo paint job enables this shack to move from the ice to the coyote bait as a heated blind.

My shack was built by my grandfather and myself over 10 years ago, and has stood strong on the hard winters of Ambajejus Lake. The large window on the front side has the best view of Mt. Katahdin of any ice shack in the state. located a couple hundred yards from my family camp this shack is just off the ITS trail system. With 2 inside Jigging holes, Sirius satellite radio and room for 4 comfortably its is without a doubt one of the best shacks on the ice. Vinyl house siding and a metal roof make it incredibly weather tight. Inside has varnished partical board and molding throughout. Also has an indoor/outdoor digital thermometer, and all my traps are set up with lights so on those cold nights cusk fishing we can stay warm inside and watch for the lights

My shanty is no better than anyone else’s. It’s comfortable and easy to move. It has benches on one side for seating and storage. The windows are set so you can see in any direction while sitting. It has a fold-up table built so that 2 or 3 people can sit comfortably to eat.

Scott and Linda Blodgett’s shack is 8 by 18 with a skylight, gas stove and 2 jog holes. One hole is under onf of the seats which folds up for access. Their grandchildren like to bake cookies while they fish. The shack will sleep three, maybe four, but 13 folks stopped by the Webb Lake in Weld shack to watch the Daytona 500

I feel my shack is original due to it cost nearly nothing to make all material was found at local transfer stations or found elsewhere, the only cost was the screws to hold it together. My son and I built it to just be out of the cold wind which is what a Ice Shack is intended to be used for. Also, hopefully your not in it all day, you’re out chasing flags!

Master bedroom (sleeps 2), breakfast nook (1/2 Table), formal dining room (full table), kitchen (gim-baled stove, sink, woodstove, positive and negative. for bait aerator, dowels for drying traps/boots, power point for charging cell phones/I-Pod, stereo, electronic center (battery gauge, wind speed/directional dial, solar monitor gauge, fuse box).Exterior (solar panel, spotlight, ananometer (wind speed), skylight). I can’t say that I catch more fish but I'm doing it in 56 square feet of pure luxury.

The Taj Pelletier (a.k.a. the Taj Mahal of Brown’s Point, Eagle Lake) is a panelized shack built in 1980 by Melford Pelletier of Wallagrass. It’s 8 by 12-feet and its 10 panels are bolted ad screwed together in about an hour with a little help from a friend. Inside are two moveable bench seats/storage bins, a cabi-net stand for a 2-burner stove, shelving, a propane light and heater and a small bar shelf separating the kitchen and the fishing area. The walls are 1-inch foam insulation. The Taj has hosted birthdays and spaghetti feeds and has seen its share of salmon, togue, trout and smelt come through its floor.

It is an iceshack built in two and put together on the ice.
it has a chrome smokestack from an 18 wheeler I found in the ditch. It has HD satellite Tv solar and battery powered. At derby time all my friends and family come out and we cook anything from deep-fried ham and fries to turducken. It may not be pretty but it’s well lived in.

My ice shack is definitely original. It is about 5'x9', the walls are made out of plastic bed-liners, it has an aluminum truck cap for a roof, the wood stove is made out of a 20 pound gas grill propane tank with 3" chimney piping, and it even has a sliding window from an old fiber glass truck cap. It is quite the unit on Brewer Lake.

Welcome to &quotDome Sweet Dome". Our shack is a 24' x 10' Geodesic dome constructed of electrical con-duit, with a fitted custom vinyl cover. It was built by local group of friends (The TIG group), with design by Bucky of Isle Au Haut. It easily assembles in less than 2 hours and breaks down in 30 minutes. She was built to protect us from the fierce wins and foul weather on Hosmer Pond, Camden, for the U.S. National Toboggan Races. Inside we provide carpeting, heat, lots of good hot food andplenty of cold beverages.

Every ice fisherman needs a Taj Mahal. I hope you enjoy a glimpse of mine. It's first winter was spent on Craig's Pond in 1988 and has been up I95 North to Eagle Lake and points in between. Some of the amenities include, a working hand pump for water, sink, pantry, countertops, 16" handcrafted wood stove made of water well casing, 12 volt and 110 volt power, 40' of rope lighting around the archways, outside lighting, jig holes, game poles outside to show off your days catch, pergo flooring (reclaimed from a camp), a fold out couch for spending the night, a four foot wood box on the outside, and some of the windows are made of picture frames. These are just some of the comforts I enjoy. Also includes insulated jig holes and a hole for keeping bait in.

I built this tent myself using old sail cloth and my chimney cleaning poles. Its design allows me to fish anywhere in Maine accessible by snowmobile. The stove in the will heat the shack to 60 degrees even on a bitter day. Note the iPod and speakers to pass the time waiting for flags. The fry pan awaits the first trout of the day, meanwhile the kettle's on. It seats four plus the sled becomes a table for food prep. My &quotshack" is unique use of recycled materials providing my family with years of enjoyment.

Everything on the inside of Joe Lynch’s shanty relates to &quotthe little cabin in Maine." From the tongue and groove pine walls to the cedar beams, this ice shack is one of a kind. It has all of the comforts of home: a jig hole, 2 bunks, microwave, mini stove, overhead lights and even DirecTV! All fueled by a quiet Honda generator that sits in its own cabinet on the outside. Ice fishing has never been more comfortable.

My home away from home is my ice shack that is 6x8 and built sturdy with 1x3's. It took me over three years to build it before it was finally done. I built it once and realized it was way too heavy so I ripped it apart and began to rebuild it. I'm not much of a carpenter but this shack wouldn't show that. It is located on Brewer Lake in Orrington about 300 yards from the landing. I know it's not the biggest or fanciest shack around but it's very practical and also very nice.

This past fall we decided to build ourselves an ice shanty. After a 20-year absence from ice fishing I wanted to introduce Wanda to what I once enjoyed about the sport. The ice shanty looks from the outside a lot like an old black tar paper shack found throughout Maine. The black in color, which is recycled industrial plastic, helps warm the building when the sun does shine and keeps things light at the same time. The inside's design and function is a different story completely. The structure is 6.5 feet by 12 feet long, more than 6.5 feet of head room, with white-painted walls and a loft area for storage of sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, and a tote that stores our queen-sized air mattress. The kitchenette area has a laminate counter top. An auto jump-starter provides 12-volt and and 110-volt power for the interior lighting. We use a propane shanty heater. Tiki torches at night light the area outside. A fold-up table under the window is perfect for serving &quotsuppa" or playing a game of cards or dice. We can move the shanty attached with long, wide skis with our Polaris Ranger. We winch it onto the trailer. The rear panel is removable. Everything inside folds up and away and we drive the 1,700-pound machine inside, strap it down, replace the rear panel or wall, raise the ramp and drive to another lake or home. Originality and practicality was our goal
