BANGOR — Samantha Jeanne Stearns Taber and Christopher Olaf Leonards were honored with a wedding reception Saturday, Oct 8, 2011, at the Bangor home of Linda Stearns and Thomas Bartlett. The couple were wed May 31 in Berlin, Germany, where they reside and study medicine at the Charite Hospital.
Ms. Taber is the daughter of Linda R. Stearns of Bangor and Peter S. Taber of Searsport, and Mr. Leonards is the son of Kathryn N. Leonards of Wilton and Jeffery T. Leonards, Ph.D., of Wilton. She is also the granddaughter of Ruth G. Stearns of Hampden and the late Louis C. Stearns, and the late Robert and Jeanne Taber. Mr. Leonards’ grandparents are Irene and Robert Naess of Rochester, N.H., and Barbara B. Leonards of Berwyn, Pa., and the late Thomas C. Leonards Jr.
A graduate of John Bapst High School in Bangor, Ms. Taber completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in history at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J., in 2004. Mr. Leonards graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel and Bates College in Lewiston, where he majored in neuroscience and was an NCAA Division I Nordic ski competitor.
The couple will visit in the Bangor and Farmington area until their return to Berlin in late October to finish their studies.
