Although damp conditions prevailed last week, photographer Dave Small still had a few productive outings. Dave caught (photographically) “south end of a north bound skunk”. The painted turtles cast a reflection in a small backwater. the most rewarding experiment however, was the use of an an MP3 player loaded
with bird calls that netted him several yellow warblers and
a virginia rail. And after trying for a while he was able to
capture an image of the leucistic white-tailed deer at University of Maine. It has a brown patch on its forehead and does not have pink eyes, thus it is not an albino. The indigo bunting brightened an otherwise dreary day.
