The wind gusts knocked the climbers off balance and sound cues indicated higher winds on the plateau. The members of the group estimated the wind gusts were 60 mph during the climb.

Dennis Stubbs, 65, of Bangor is lifted from his iron lung by his primary caregiver, Kate Tuck, at his Bangor home in September. Stubbs contracted polio at 7 years old and spends every night in an iron lung to help him breathe while he is asleep.
