Any day is a good day to be alive and has nothing with disgusting display.

  • Jack Torrence

    proudly voted ‘NO’

    • How does it feel to be on the wrong side of history?

      • Jack Torrence

47% of us STILL don’t believe in you…and clearly 8 votes vs. 4 votes for me is a clear victory

        • Guest

What a difference an hour makes. Looks like you have been given more thumbs down.

          • Anonymous

No looks like he has more votes

          • Guest

Yes by now a few more bigots have agreed with his sick sentiments. He’s still an idi _ t.

proudly to join you in saying no to gay marriage

    • Jack Torrence

43 votes 17…in favor of my comment

    • Anonymous

You are proud to have voted against some one else having a common civil right most of us take for granted? If you don’t want to marry a guy, Jack, don’t marry one. Why do you feel you have a right to stop some one else from doing that?

When can we expect special hours of operation by towns and cities offices for heterosexual marriages?

I think they are discriminating against straight couples. Where’s the American Criminal Liberties Union?

    • Anonymous

A straight couple could’ve been there at midnight if they chose.Stop making things up.

      • Anonymous

They would not have been open specifically for straight couples. They made a special occasion for a fringe group of lost souls.

    • Anonymous

Now my hetro partner and I are being totally discriminated against and now a minority, maybe I’ll go look for a new and better job and use my new forced upon minority status as a means to force places to hire me or protest out front of their business that they discriminate against single hetro people.

      • Guest

You and your hetero partner can get married any time you want to.
This is about marriage not domestic partnerships.

        • Anonymous

Well now I’m not going to help the government borrow money we don’t have and can’t pay back because they expect us to have kids to pay for the loan on marriage which is called a “business partnership” according to the government.
But just like gays did I can say anything I want about discrimination against single people, about how gays won’t rent to, hire, damage headstones of, memorial of, throw people off bridges just because we are single and hetro and refused to further this country in deeper debt.

Something tells me you drink too much.

          • Anonymous

Don’t drink at all, read up on the taxation system, not just the bold print but the fine print too.

          • Anonymous

Your original post to which I responded makes no sense. Usually drunkards have a difficult time expressing themselves so I presumed you were inebriated. At least if you were inebriated, you’d have an excuse for incoherent thought.

          • Anonymous

I mirror back crap people say to me.
Don’t you have some grown up responsible to do like shoveling or blowing snow?

    • Anonymous

You could have gone to get a marriage at this hour too, so quit screaming victim. It’s pathetic. This is the first time these couples can get married and you think, well, what about me? That’s an awful and disgusting characteristic. You should work on changing it.

      • mallen299

Maybe you and Scott can get together and try to explain this away. Facts are not in your favor. It was purely for the gay couples. Nothing more, nothing less.

    • Scott Harriman

Town offices that opened early on Saturday were open to all couples, not just gay ones.

      • mallen299

Nice try, but what was the reason for a Saturday opening? To service gay couples. Period. A service that has never been offered to hetero couples. Discrimination and preferential treatment by any other name is still what it is.

        • Anonymous

Were you complaining about the discrimination against gay couples that happened before Saturday? Are you complaining about the current discrimination against gay couples because of DOMA?

If not, you’re nothing but a hypocrite who is only concerned about him/herself. Have some principles.

        • Scott Harriman

The town offices were open to all couples on Saturday. Can you explain how that constitutes discrimination?

  • Anonymous

    Congratulations.

  • Anonymous

bottom line- if they are happy with each other, who cares? Congrat to all of them.

  • Anonymous

who really cares? why can’t you people just live your life without the special attention..

  • Anonymous

This is in no way news….its a stain on the history of this great state.

    • Anonymous

Agreed, Maine is now the state of poverty, drug abuse, welfare and gay marriage. What a shining star we have become!

  • Anonymous

You know how we learn about racism in history books and feel ashamed of our country? All of our ancestors will feel the same shame about people against same sex marriage as we do racism and slavery

Please, everyone, just remember that while you sit on your high horses and think you are better than every one else. Remember, divorce, gluttony, lying and sex for pleasure are all sins. How many of you are divorced and obese, lying about your porn habit? Yeah, way to throw gay people under the bus for something they are born with so you can make yourselves feel better. Really, you make me sick.

      • Anonymous

So according to you, sam, sex for pleasure is a sin? Therefore it stands to reason that since homosexual sex can not possibly create a life, it must be strictly for pleasure, therefore it must be a sin. No? Divorce, gluttony and lying are not isolated to heterosexual relationships, neither are pornography habits for that matter. In the future, please think about what you post, and, if at all possible, try to make it logical. Thank you.

        • Anonymous

I’m not saying those things are strictly heterosexual. Many people who are against gay marriage and supposed “Christians” engage in gluttony, lying, divorce, etc, Next time you post, think outside the box for a moment. You’re welcome.

          • Anonymous

If you still haven’t gotten what I’m saying, let me put it to you like this. People that are against gay marriage are more sick in the heads than any gay person could ever be. They obviously think way too much about the sexual portion of the relationship. They put so much time and effort into attempting to make someone miserable for who they truly are. I’m sure your God really appreciates people treating fellow people like they are below them. I’m sorry, but when it is time for judgment day, God is going to look at the people who treated others with respect and love, regardless of their sexuality, and take those people into the gates of Heaven. You know where all of you haters are gonna be….

          • Anonymous

            Oh……..alrighty then.

        • Anonymous

And I don’t think anything is a sin, because I don’t believe in what the Bible says. All I am trying to say is that the reasoning behind anti-gay marriage folks is utter nonsense.

  • Tedlick Badkey

    Congratulations to all!

Maine is already a leader in the decline of families with two parents. History shows that the two Scandinavian countries that also faced major declines in traditional two parent families adopted gay marriage exploding welfare enrollment. Gay proponents ignore these decades of facts. So, Mainers may ignore the moral issue and the historical cultural decline experienced by other great nations, but the consequences of increased Welfare enrollments will create a financial burden for a state that can not even care for its roads or K-12 education. Talk about being stuck on stupid.

    • Anonymous

Live your own life and let these people live theirs. Butt out and quit trying to control everyone else. So much for “limited government” with people like you.

      • Thron

Unfortunately liberals always bring feelings to a fact fight. The voters of Maine voted for gay marriage, they now get to live with the historical consequences. There is nothing in my comment about “control everyone else” nor “limited government.” If Maine wants to commit cultural and financial suicide, then they have the freedom to do so.

        • Anonymous

You just said, I know you are but what am I? That’s not an argument.

          • Thron

You are now arguing with yourself and I will leave you to the comfort and solitude of your delusional world of liberal feelings.

    • Anonymous

You meant to spell your screen name “Throne”, didn’t you? Doesn’t it get awfully lonely way up there??

      • Thron

        No.

    More money for divorce lawyers…lol

  • Only if both chicks are hot!

<3 Finally, equality in marriage. My own marriage feels so much more sacred now that all loving couples can marry.

    “Once upon a time
    we said prayers in school;

    We paid tribute
    to our country,

    And those who
    gave their lives in her defense;

    We honored our
    parents;

    And we spoke the
    name of God with reverence.

    Once upon a time
    moral principals guided our progress,

    And we eschewed
    evil:

    We punished
wrongdoing in the courts of the land,

    Rewarding truth
    with justice and honor.

    Once upon a time
we were a nation of believers:

    Believers in our
    heritage;

    Believers in the
    dignity of man;

    And believers in
    God.

Look at what has become of us…”
