CHICHESTER, N.H. – Laurie Ann Littlefield and John Charles Baas III were married at the Barnstead Congregational Church in Center Barnstead on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. The reception was held at their renovated carriage house in Chichester, with music by Rod Picott and Amanda Shires of Nashville, Tenn. Laurie and Jay entered the festivities under a kayak paddle arch provided by Laurie’s adventurous kayaking girlfriends. Laurie, formerly of the Bangor area, is the daughter of Mervin Littlefield of Glenburn and the late Joan Littlefield. She walked down the aisle to fiddle music with her sister Mrs. Julie LaRou and her father and was attended by Ms. Ann Stetson of Brewer. Laurie’s nephews, Brad and Matt LaRou were the ushers. Mrs. Littlefield-Baas is an educator with RSU 57 in Waterboro, Maine. Jay has resided most of his life in the Suncook River Valley in New Hampshire. He was attended by Rick Simoneau of Barnstead. Jay’s daughter, Ms. Sarah Baas, proprietor of Beaver Meadow Golf Course Bar and Grill in Concord, catered the event. Mr. Baas is an environmentalist with the Department of Environmental Services in Concord. Laurie and Jay traveled to the Fryeburg Fair for their honeymoon and reside on the banks of the Suncook River next to Thunder Bridge in Chichester. They are living happily ever after!
