Duncan and his mother Teresa Montague held a small demonstration to bring awareness to the high rate of suicide among veterans. Montague says that every day 22 veterans commit suicide in the US and sometimes it is due to the long wait in veterans' care.

Community members gathered for a candlelight vigil to remember Nichole Cable at the East Ridge Stable in Charleston on Saturday, May 25, 2013. The event was organized by Nichole's Angels, a group that has set up a memorial fund in Cable's memory to support her family.
