JONESPORT – Tony and Rhonda French of Jonesport and Blin and Rachel Cilley of Princeton are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Denise Loree French and Jason Lorenzo Cilley. Also sharing in the excitement of this blessed occasion are sister of the bride-to-be, Holly Swilo of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and sisters of the groom-to-be, Felicia and Vanessa Cilley of Princeton. Denise is a 2002 graduate of Jonesport-Beals High School, a 2004 graduate of Washington County Community College and a 2006 graduate of the University of Maine at Machias with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She is employed as a credit risk management specialist at Machias Savings Bank and is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration through St. Joseph’s College of Maine. Jason is a 2003 graduate of Woodland High School and a 2005 graduate of Washington County Community College with a degree in culinary arts. He is employed as a cook at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Machias and is seeking CDM certification. Denise and Jason attended Washington County Community College at the same time; they passed each other in the halls on a daily basis, and on several occasions, Denise tutored Jason in the college’s study center, where she worked as a peer accounting tutor. They both graduated – he went on to work; she went off to complete her Bachelor of Science degree. It was not until two years later that Jason contacted Denise by e-mail; they met for coffee and the rest is history! The couple will be married on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Jonesport United Pentecostal Church by their pastor, the Rev. Steve Bertrand.
